Annual event honours children with life-threatening illnesses and their families
Vancouver, B.C. (November 28, 2022): Canuck Place Children’s Hospice honours short lives at the annual Lighting of the House presented by CIBC at Canuck Place Vancouver – Glen Brae Manor. A beloved tradition, the Lighting of the House represents giving light and hope to over 830 children with life-threatening illnesses and their families across BC and the Yukon.
Canuck Place parents, Hollie and Chris Hall, will share the story of their daughter Lily who passed away on the Canuck Place program at 19 years old. Together, with Canucks Alumni, Kirk McLean, they will press the big red button to light up the house and help let Lily’s light shine.
The in-person event, hosted by Global BC’s Sarah MacDonald, will also include festive refreshments; a musical performance from EnChor Choir; acknowledgments from Denise Praill, Canuck Place CEO, and CIBC’s Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets, Kathy Butler; in addition to the lighting of 60,000 festive lights illuminating the Vancouver hospice.
The ceremony and lighting will be professionally recorded and photographed and will be shared upon request. To book media availability, please contact anna.stuber@canuckplace.org.
