Annual event honours children’s light and legacy
Vancouver, B.C. (November 25, 2024): Canuck Place Children’s Hospice brightens the holidays at the annual Lighting of the House presented by CIBC at the hospice in Vancouver. A beloved tradition, the Lighting of the House represents giving light and hope to over 920 children with life-threatening illnesses and the families who love them across B.C. and the Yukon.
Canuck Place parents from Willams Lake, Matt and Jenn Rempel, will share the story of their son Tristan who passed away on the Canuck Place program on his fifth birthday. Together, the Rempel family will press the big red button to light up the house with thousands of lights, in honour of Tristan and all the children at Canuck Place.
The outdoor event, hosted by Global BC’s Jason Pires, will also include festive refreshments; photos with Santa; acknowledgments from Canuck Place Chief Communications Officer, Debbie Butt and CIBC World Markets’ Vice Chair and Head of Capital Markets - BC, Kathy Butler; in addition to the lighting of thousands of lights that will illuminate the Vancouver hospice and grounds.
The ceremony and lighting will be photographed and shared upon request. To book media availability, please contact anna.stuber@canuckplace.org.
Join us for this heartwarming holiday lighting ceremony and help short lives shine bright.
