Annual event honours children’s light and legacy
Abbotsford, B.C. (November 24, 2025): Canuck Place Children’s Hospice brightens the holidays at the annual Lighting of the House presented by CIBC at Canuck Place Abbotsford – Dave Lede House. A beloved tradition, the Lighting of the House represents giving light and hope to over 946 children with life-threatening illnesses and families across B.C. and the Yukon.
The outdoor event, hosted by Lisa Stevens from Star FM will also include festive refreshments; a musical performance from Charity Larise Music; photos with Santa; acknowledgments from Canuck Place Chief Executive Officer, Denise Praill, and CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisor and former BC Lion and CFL Hall of Fame inductee, Brent Johnson; in addition to the lighting of thousands of festive lights illuminating the Abbotsford hospice and grounds.

Canuck Place Children's Hospice is BC and the Yukon's pediatric palliative care provider. Learning that a child is seriously ill and may die before reaching adulthood is overwhelming for families. Canuck Place cares for over 946 children living with life-threatening illnesses and families in our hospices and through community care (in-home/in-hospital and virtual). Canuck Place operates 10 patient beds and 8 family suites through two hospices in Vancouver and Abbotsford.
